There were so many highlights of the wedding. Some hiccups here and there but all ended with a blissful smile upon the final settling fact that our first of the third generation of the family has finally officially given herself to her man. : )))
The excitement started on friday night. Prior to that there had already been some madness. The rush to get our clothes, facials and manicures done. haha.. I went with mum to genting to catch Oliver. The casino was of course inevitable, and Grandma asked me to help place bets for her at the "da xiao" table. Which was bummer of course, I've never had any luck at all in the gambling scene.
Anyway, the older half of the cousins went over to the bride's house to stay. Being too excited, we caught about 2-3 hours of shuteye before saturday morning madness started. Getting everything ready whilst the rest of the family trickled in. At 820 (he was damn late) the groom arrived.
Of course with the loud slamming of the horns, thus waking the entire neighbourhood. Negotiations begin with Grandma at the back asking us to open the door. (We all then decided she be banished to the room to stay with the bride as we negotiate for future weddings). After screaming "i will not ever have a mistress", and doing 10 one-hand pushups, he was let in. So easy right? We thus proceeded with the tea ceremony, and then to the temple where the registration took place.
Went to the groom's house for a short while, then proceeded home to prepare for the night. We forgot to bring the guestlist. Sigh that was a bit chaotic and we paled in comparison in terms of organisation to the groom's side.
Here comes the bride!!! and the food begins too. Which was fantastic, considering all the rich food was served. The night ended nicely. We said our goodbyes, went home and died on the bed.
The next day was the second night of the wedding celebration. Which erm I'd rather not comment on. I'd just say it's hard to accomodate everybody and what everyone wishes to do. That night didn't end too well.
But, Dora's married to become Mrs Gan! I was so not used to calling her Dora. haha cos i always call her ah hean but yup it dawned upon me that I won't be seeing her often anymore. She's going to stay with her hubs.
Mum and I then took the new NICE bus back to sg. They've upgraded their buses once again and it's really nice!!! Equipped with lcd screens at each chair which boasts a selection of 4 movies that you can choose from. And now we can book our tickets online without having to go down personally only to be disappointed, or having to call the no-one-picks-up line. We had mineral water, a packet of drink, one sandwich and coffee/tea throughout the journey. And they stopped twice for toilet break (though i never go cos all of the highway toilets are damn gross).
Yup so now it's back to sg life. Start of hibernation plan hasn't worked out quite well. Muhaha. We celebrated Gavin's birthday yesterday at Crystal Jade, 1 Bar and 1 Club. haha tuesday night is rather dead. But nonetheless, HAPPY BIRTHDAY gavinboy!
Too bad my camera has screwed itself up. I have no recollection of banging it against any wall, but i probably did. Actually i was more worried about kt's newly bought camera that was sigh the epitome of a damn good camera. I wanted to kidnap it. 7.1 megapixels!!!!!
Will upload the pics when my cam is alive!
